Hi I just bought Apa102c and wanted to test them with a power supply from amazon:
Now the first LEDs directly went up in smoke .... Hope there is a chance to fix the rest but just from putting the supply on - long story short I am searching for another power supply solution.
The Apa102C is 5m long and I used a lightberry power coverter to connect it to the raspi but the effect was the same when I connect it for a short time directly in the LED.
