So I assume my problem is this is not a compatible controller correct?
I guess so. But I am not as advanced as other users here.
If it can't work with your controller you might want to look at another ESP board. They are not very expensive...
and WLED is just nice. Maybe it can make sense in your other applications
Doing a quick search I found these 2 projects that apparently have the protocol to communicate with this controller I wonder how complex it would be to add this to Hyperion.

1. its easier to buy a wemos d1 and flash with wled
2. you can open the case and see if its also uses the esp8266 chip, if yes, just look which pins are used and then compile wled yourself... easy
Yeah I tried flashing it with wled but that didn't get me anywhere, ended up buying some wled boards and got it working with udp but I can't get more than 1 instance of wled working. I tried changing ports because I thought there was a port conflict since both wled lights are using the same port so now I don't know if that is the case or if hyperion can't support more than 1 wled instance.
why you dont use wled device instead of udp?
How would I do that I tried using wled as the controller type but it does not work, the only I've got it to work so far was using udpraw and port 19446, if you have another way of making it work I'm all for trying it out.

Nothing wled just works as it's own device like it never receives any data from hyperion

Do you know what I need to do in wled app to get it working? I was going off from the instructions provided here: https://github.com/Aircoookie/WLED/wiki/UDP-Realtime-Control
Weird I just changed the controller from file to wled again and it started working
Weird it keeps disabling the wled device it's very erratic using wled as the controller udpraw works fine but I can only get 1 instance running with udpraw.

It seems the problem lies in wled app, I changed the led sync port to 21324 which is the default and saved it then saved and reboot and it works with hyperion using wled
