Run HyperionNG on NAS Synology

    Hi,


    I have a :

    LG CX 65" + Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 + NAS Synology 720+

    I've rooted LG + installed Picap, and also installed "Android Screen Grabber" on the nvidia, so I can use both solutions.



    Before buying LED, I have a question. Can I use my NAS to run Hyperion on a docker? If yes, I need to connect the led strip to the sinology usb? Or it is mandatory to buy a raspberry

    errorlevel If I remember it right, with DSM7 Synology only allows storage on USB.
    Therefore, it would be best to check, if network streaming of LED output is the better alternative.

    Suggest you have a look at WLED instead of an arduino or rpi.

    Plus that would better fit with a "run in docker" service scenario.


    if you use a rpi, there should no need to run hyperion on the NAS.

    You can run on the rpi.

    You can only use it via a virtual machine.

    The DSM Kernel is missing lots of modules for the usb grabber.

    LED with WLED is working via Docker or VM as well
