Hyperion does not get started after reboot

  • Hi there,

I'm new here and I'm trying to set hyperion with WS281x led. I understand that I have to run hyperion under root, I've seen a lot of forums with this solution:

    sudo systemctl disable --now hyperion@pi
    sudo systemctl enable --now hyperion@root
    sudo reboot now

But after reboot command, hyperion gets stopped and I can't get it running again.

    I've tried this command:

    sudo systemctl enable --now hyperion

But I get the next line:

Failed to enable unit: Unit file hyperion.service does not exist.

I just want to understand why is this happening and if there is a workaround for this. Thanks in advance

    Which Hyperion version?

    For newer versions

    sudo updateHyperionUser -u root

root is only required for ws281x
