Red Tint only on Chromecast?

  • So I am not entirely sure whats going on here. I have a setup with a usb capture card, a hdmi splitter with down resolution, that goes into a hdmi selector with ps5, chromecast, ps2, and switch. I noticed that the colors were super off for the chromecast whenever I first started to use it and noticed that in the live view that all blacks are red and everything else has a purple hue to it. The PS5, switch, and ps2 all show perfectly normal.

Is there something I am missing ?

  • I tried to do color calibration and there seems to be gradient of red to purple from left to right on the screen but only on the chromecast and only in the capture card, the TV shows no issues

  • I turned off Dolby vision and it worked fine under HDR. Not seemingly something easy to search sadly.

DolbyVision only works with a few systems, e.g. Philips, LG TV with PicCap.

DolbyVision cannot be scaled, the protocol is not known.

HDR has to be color compensated, even there are only a few hardware that can do it properly, e.g. HDFury Diva, Gofango.

  • I might look into a few of those, my splitter got a pink image however otherwise the TV got a perfect image which doesn't seem to match the thread. Also that thread with a mix of German and English everywhere is extremely hard to follow.
