Hello all!
First, my hardwares and wiring:
- SK6812
- Raspberry Pi 3B+
- 20amp PSU connected to LED Strip
- Official Raspberry Pi PSU connected to RP3
- data and ground jumper wires connected from LED to RP
- Google TV and Cable TV Box connected to HDMI Inputs on HDMI Switcher

So I have had Hyperion working great for a week or 2 now, watching everything via Google TV dongle.
But since I bought the HDMI Switcher, I decided to connect my Cable TV Box as well, since sometimes I watch something there.
So, first time I connected the Cable TV box and rebooted the Pi, it worked great. I could switch between sources and the LEDs would correspond to what was on the screen.
But, next day, when I tried it again, I was getting the "No Signal" message on my TV when trying to watch the Cable TV, though the LEDs were lit and kinda flickering the colors. I thought maybe the HDMI cable was bad, so I bought a new one but still nothing.
Then I checked on "Live Video" on Hyperion web UI and it showed me like a kinda like "colorful static noise" as signal... And that's why the LEDs were flickering, they were according to the colors from signal I was getting on the Hyperion web UI (even though, like I said, I had no signal on the TV)
Then, I tried reconnecting, putting the cable tv on the first input on the switcher, tried the cable tv directly to the USB video capture card... Still same results.
Then I reconnected everything and tried rebooting the Pi, and then it worked the signal and LEDs... I watched a bit and then switched back to Google TV. Later, when I tried the Cable TV, it was back to No Signal and the "white noise" on the Live Video on Hyperion.
I tried the Cable TV on the other inputs from the HDMI switcher, but they are the same.
Any idea on what's the issue? I'm thinking it's a hardware incompatibility of some kind(?).
Strange thing is that I managed to get the signal twice, after reconnecting and rebooting the Pi.
To illustrate:
On Google TV it shows perfectly
But on Cable TV Box:
