Raspberry Pi Zero loses connection to USB grabber after reboot – LEDs remain dark

  • Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my LEDs and the Raspberry Pi Zero that I would like to discuss here. It's about the connection between the Raspberry Pi Zero and my USB grabber.

The problem occurs every time I restart the Raspberry Pi Zero. The connection to the USB grabber seems to be lost. The USB grabber is displayed in the Hyperion web interface, but the LEDs remain dark. The only thing that helps is to deactivate the grabber via the web interface and then activate it again. Only then will the LEDs work again, until the next restart of the Raspberry Pi.

Here are some details about my configuration:

Raspberry Pi Zero with Raspbian OS

USB grabber (manufacturer and model on request)

    Hyperion version (on request)

LED setup (number and type of LEDs on request)

Have any of you had a similar problem before or have an idea how I could fix it? Is there a way to automatically reinitialize or activate the USB grabber when starting the Raspberry Pi Zero so that I don't have to do this manual readjustment every time?

Thank you in advance for your help!

  • This isn't a Hyperion problem. According to the log output, the grabber is no longer present in the system; it's either a hardware or software issue in the operating system.

Test the grabber with e.g. VLC, OBS etc.

  • Would be possible, USB 2.0 max. 500 mA.

If you tell us which HDMI switch you have, we'll give you a suitable answer.

You can easily test it yourself by using a 'better' power supply.
