Hi everyone,
I noticed that whatever I do with the color calibration (increased saturation, trying different rgb values for the colors, changed Gamma values), several colors of the test images don't even come close to the same color. It is especially noticable on red. A full red screen from the offical test image set (via DX11 screen capture) results in orange LEDs at best. Blue always is light blue in a similar fashion.
When I use WLED without Hyperion to set the colors directly, they look exactly how they should.
I am using a RGBW strip (SK6812-NW), and it seems like the W-component is always active when Hyperion controls the colors (at least that would explain the color results). Can anyone confirm this theory? And most importantly, how do I fix it?
Nevermind, managed to fix it. Increasing the gamma values helped, but caused another problem: Cyan, Magenta and Yellow looked off.
Here are my settings with which I'm happy now, in case anyone runs into the same problem:
In Hyperion, Image Processing:
Cyan: rgb(0,255,50)
Magenta: rgb(255,0,50)
Yellow: rgb(255,150,0)
Brightness compensation: 0
Brightness gain: 2
Gamma Red: 2,3
Gamma Green: 3,4
Gamma Blue: 7
In WLED LED Preferences (not sure if all of these were necessary, but whatever):
Auto-calculate white channels from RGB: Dual
Further down under White Management:
White Balance correction: Enabled
Global override for Auto-calculate White: Dual
