Hi everyone,
I'm currently using WLED with the Android Grabber and have Hyperion working well. I’ve calibrated the colors, and everything looks good overall. However, I’m encountering an issue with dark scenes.
When there are dark areas on screen, I notice a faint green flicker, and it seems to be more pronounced when there’s green in the picture. The flicker only happens with the color green, and it can be quite distracting.
I’ve seen suggestions on the forum to increase the backlight to mitigate the issue. While that helps reduce the flickering, it doesn't look great in dark scenes, as it leaves a constant backlight across the whole TV.
I’m wondering if there’s a way to smooth out the color transitions to reduce this flickering effect without the constant backlight. I've also tried lowering the update frequency, but that hasn’t resolved the issue. The only partial solution I've found is increasing the update time, but this makes the changes too slow and still doesn't fully fix the problem.
Is there a way to:
- Slow down the color transition rate to reduce the flickering?
- Set a threshold where low-light levels don’t trigger color changes to avoid the flickering in dark scenes?
For context, I’m using WS2812B LEDs with WLED, and I'm controlling everything with the Android Grabber.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
