UCS2904 compatible?

Hello,

I would like to build an Ambilight-effect on a projection screen with beamer.

The digital strip I would use is UCS2904 RGBW or a WS2813 RGB

Does Hyperion supports this type as it is similar to SK6812 ?

UCS2904 RGBW is not suitable for Ambilight, 6 LEDs are always controlled together.

The best stripes are HD107S or Sk6812 RGBW-NW.

I know, but the screen is 7x2 meters, so the "resolution" doesn't need to be that good.

But... I'm restricted in my choice of strip.

WS2813 RGB 3led/pixel 12Vdc

UCS2904 RGBW 6led/pixel 24Vdc

WS2813 RGB single pixel 5Vdc

WS2815 RGB single pixel 12Vdc

None of those are in the list of led hardware so is there a way to make it work with what I have to choose from?

It depends on the protocol that the stripes use.

If the protocol is compatible with the list of LED hardware, it will work.

Hey Hyperion-Members,

some of you don't know which LEDs to buy/choose. I found a overview with common LEDs:

We highly recommend the 4-Wire/clocked/synchronous Chipsets! They work directly on RPis SPI-Port without big known issues.
The 3-Wire/nonclocked/asynchronous Chipsets for example the WS2812B often leads to problems and require additional Hardware like an Arduino!
