What can I use to send Capture Card data to an existing Hyperbian over the network? Can it be done?

  • Background:

I have a Hyperbian running on Home Assistant as an Add-on.

I have Hyperion Android Grabber running on my Google TV sending the capture to my server and this works great for Google TV apps, but not for HDMI sources.

I want to capture my PS5 connected via HDMI. I am thinking a Capture Card on a HDMI Splitter setup is the solution.

Most tutorials using Splitter/Capture card setups have Hyperbian running directly on the Pi that is connected to the capture card.

However, my existing Hyperbian server is not near the capture card. It would need to be sent to Hyperbian over the network somehow like the Android Grabber does.

    Question:

Is there some way to send the capture card data to Hyperbian over the network? What hardware/software can do this?

Can the capture card be plugged into a RPI and sent to an existing Hyperion server? What are my options?

Changed the title of the thread from “What can I use to send capture card data to an existing Hyperion Server over wifi? Can it be done?” to “What can I use to send Capture Card data to an existing Hyperbian over the network? Can it be done?”.

Only capture card on the RPI alone does not work.

If Hyperion is also installed on the RPI, sending the image data to the Hyperion server should work.
