Problem configuring image capture zones in Hyperion via Flatbuffer

  • Hi,

I’ve successfully connected everything and Hyperion is working, but I’m having trouble configuring the image capture zones via Flatbuffer. The LEDs are not receiving direct image data individually — instead, the image is being averaged across a group of around ±15 LEDs. As a result, distinct zones are formed rather than mapping the video content directly to each LED.

I would like to configure it so that each LED reflects the specific part of the image it corresponds to, rather than working in large grouped zones. Could you please guide me on how to set the capture zones precisely using Flatbuffer, or point me to an example configuration?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Hi,

if you want to led reflecting the image zones wich you set up under LED instances -> LED output -> LED layout than you have to set LED instances -> Image processing ->LED area assignment to Mean color simple - per LED

    Best regards

  • Thank you for your response,

I’ve already checked that option and it is enabled. However, I’m getting this result with that setting, and I don’t know how to fix it to achieve the desired outcome.

  • Would you please send a screenshot of your LED visualization with live video?

Did you set a too high flatbuffer picture decimation factor?

  • There is only black screen and it looks like attached picture up there. I didn't set anything with picture decimation factor. I don't want to add any screen grabber by HDMI because I want to use smart tv apps

  • Would you please send a screenshot of your "about Hyperion" page (located under System)?

A copy of your log (also under System) would be also helpfull.

  • I guess you are facing the same "problem" like me using LibreElec:

the internal V4L grabber does not work anymore in current versions of Kodi.

What else capture devices do you get listed? If framebuffer is the onbly one then

you have to use an external USB grabber or install Rudihorn's DRM-VC4-grabber.

  • Do I need to install it "next" to the hyperion? On hyperbian? And second question will the USB grabber works with build in smart tv on tizen?

  • Like said, i only guess that this is your problem. What else capture devices do you get listed? Is framebuffer is the only one?

And second question will the USB grabber works with build in smart tv on tizen?

Unfortunately no. But there is a Tizen grabber called HyperTizen but you need at least Tizen 6.5

pawlik0802 Could it be that the image you are streaming is from hyperTizen?

The Tizengrabber is not sending a full image via Flatbuffer, but captures multiple points on the TV and sends in an image for those only…

The Image you are showing looks quite similar to what is shown in other posts in relation to Tizen.

Yes, exactly I am streaming from HyperTizen to hyperion via flatbuffer. So it can't send full image? Do you know any other screen grabbers it will work with tizenbrew?

I was wondering why the Led are reacting if there is a black screen... So thats why. Good to know
