Configuration Transfer 2.0.16 -> 2.1.1

  • Hello !
I’m using Hyperion from my Windows 11 PC, and after buying a new PC, I want to transfer my Hyperion configuration to the new machine.

However, I’m moving from version 2.0.16 to version 2.1.1 of Hyperion, and the web interface tells me the configuration transfer is incompatible between these versions.

The problem is, I spent a huge amount of time fine-tuning the configuration for four WLED LED devices (yes, that’s a lot… ^^).

Is there a way to transfer at least the WLED configurations, for example by copying just that section into the configuration file of version 2.1.1 ?

    Thank you very much.

If you still have access to the old PC, it would be the easiest to copy the configuration database. The location you find on the About page.

Stop Hyperion on both PCs. Then copy the old configuration and replace the current configuration .dB file on the new PC.

Alternatively, install 2.1.1on the old PC and then export the configuration.

  • Thank you for your reply, and sorry for the delay…

I did copy the configuration folder from the old PC, and it works, but I still have the same issue:

    • When I launch Hyperion on my new PC, one of the LED strips (the one on the TV stand — there are 4 in total) flickers, and another strip (the ceiling one) no longer works.

To fix the issue, I have to, at each startup, go into the settings and enable/disable it in Remote Control → Component Control → Disable then Re-enable LED Device.

Please note that each LED strip has its own WLED. This worked perfectly with the old version of Hyperion, no issues at all.

Thank you for your help, and have a great day !

    Here’s the log:

It’s a shame, because I’d be disappointed to go back to the old version — you’ve done an amazing job since then, and the program now uses much fewer resources.

PS: I noticed something — in the old version, as long as the program couldn’t detect all the WLEDs, it would close.

With this version, it launches even if it doesn’t detect all the WLEDs.

  • FYI, I think I found the root cause of the flickering. It is caused by the DDA Grabber.

Given that the Grabber has various issues, we are currently rewriting much of it.

Therefore, we ask for everybody’s patience until a new version is ready for testing.

Edit: Which WLED Version are you using?
