Hi guys!
I am planning to build myself a nice Hyperion TV Backlight with Home Assistant integration, choosing the LEDs, wiring them up to the Pi, buying a video capture card and finally, the power supplies/cables are all not a problem.
The thing that I can't figure out and am very cautious about is the HDMI Splitter. I own a Samsung 50'' QLED TV that is paired with a Denon AVR-X1800H. Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon Prime are used via the built-in TV apps, but my Nintendo Switch and other sources are attached to the AVR. I am willing to buy a Nvidia Shield so all of my video goes through the AVR, but I still have no idea what HDMI Splitter to buy.
To prevent the breakage of eARC from the AVR, I only see a single Splitter for over € 500 in the pinned and curated HDMI splitter list. This, however, seems to me a little drastic as the Philips Hue TV Sync Box is only ~300€.
So is a pure HDMI Splitter with eARC (and the likes of Dolby, HDR, etc.) just so damn expensive or did I miss any other products on the web that work with Hyperion and a setup like mine?
Thanks for your help,
Enno aka SchoolGuy
P.S.: This project is to please my girlfriend, and she approved of Hyperion, so thumbs up for that already!
I found the following HDMI Splitter, but it appears to be sold out: FeinTech AX341 (I'm not posting the product link to prevent being marked as a spammer).
