Video capture not working after update

  • Recently updated my Hyperion from January 2024 build to 2.1.1. I did not take a backup of my config before updating (error #1).

Hyperiod is running on a Pi4 that controls a WS2812 strip via GPIO Pin 18. Confirmed my LED's are working.

After the update, my capture card is seen by Hyperion in the capture hardware menu and I've activated it but no video is being displayed on the preview. I am using a HDMI-USB Capture card. No hardware changes happened before this issue. Removed the capture card from the Pi and plugged it into my desktop and I can see input video so I know the card works.

My source/the splitter is running a 1920x1080 signal. I've tried multiple different resolutions in Hyperion. All I see is a black emptiness instead of a video preview.

    Anyone ever fixed this?

Logs attached immediately after a fresh boot with video playing.

Stumbled on After the update, the USB grabber is not working after posting. Managed to turn on Expert mode and adjusted the contract/saturation as they were all zeroes and I can now see video but it doesnt look quite right. What are the mins/max for saturation, contrast and brightness?

    min/max = 0/255

    Grabber default values. (Screenshot)

OK for SDR; saturation is best at 150, default 180 is to high.

HDR: Set brightness and saturation to 255.

  • This comes through beautifully on my end on the video preview, Danke schoen!

Different issue on same setup... My LED's start at top left corner, go clockwise and counts are below.

    Top: 36

    Bottom: 37

    L/R Side: 20 each

With this configuration, the last 8 on the bottom strip, and entire final run of 20 on the side do not illuminate. The color also appears to basically be always white instead of reflecting what is on screen. As before, I didnt have this issue prior to update. Hyperion is running as the root user.

I believe I am running a WS2812 strip. Attached a picture of my strip if it helps; I have 4.7V from the first LED to the last. As stated in OP, I'm running the data line off GPIO18 on a raspberry pi 4.

    Here's the LED controller config:

Activated RGBW and this solved my LED issues.

Vielen Dank! Sie haben mir unzählige Stunden erspart. Tschuss! :)

That's probably an SK6812 RGBW strip.

RGB byte order is normally GRB.
