Hyperion capture software is not being discovered

  • Hi,
I'm not using a capture card, I'm trying to use Hyperion android grabber on an Nvidia shield also HyperTizen on a Samsung TV.

The Hyperion server is running on a PC on the same network.

I can't get anything but the server PC screen to show on the "Device discovered" list.

    What am I doing wrong?

IP on the Hypreion grabber is set correctly.

Any lead to fix this can help! ?(

  • are you using protobuffer portsettings on the Hyperion screen grabber and pc?

Is your network open so the protocols can reach the pc?

    same network, no Vlan's ?

from the shield with some android browser, can you reach pc webbrowser hyperion homepage?

android grabber doesnt support HDCP so you cant stream vd-services like Netflix/Amazon/Disney etc

    For Hyperion android grabber

Network Services > Protocol Buffers Server Activate

HyperTizen probably won't work; there haven't been any successful reports for quite some time.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the guidance,
I'm using the standard protobuffer port 19445, and it's set both in Hyperion and in the grabber
    Same network, no Vlans.
I can log in to Hyperion on a browser from the Shield and from other PCs and phones with no isses.

Yes, it's active and on port 19445

I found someone who wrote "android grabber will only show if priority is set between 100-199
And now I'm seeing an image (very blury one) ony ther visualization.
And I see a line for it in source selection.

Still don't see anthing related on "screen capture" under capturing hardware.

You will not see any remote sources on the screen capture page.

That page only shows inputs which are available on the platform Hyperion runs on.

Remote grabber establish a network connection and if that is successful you see the connection as in input source.

  • Hello. I'm having a similar problem, but I can't access Hyperion at all other than on the computer it's running on. [IP address]:8090 doesn't work in the grabber or in a browser on my TV or phone. All the servers on the Network Services page are active, and I haven't changed any of the ports, I also tried enabling "Internet API Access". I can access Kodi running on the same computer on [IP address] :8080 on both my phone and TV. Is there something I'm missing?
