After i added the pause state to kodi check i thought about a impementation for v4l2, there is no reason against it. But this is just applicable for people that already splitted their config to get another color calibration for v4l2. So it should be a opt-in option to enable this at v4l2.
anything other may lead to unwanted behaviour when you use framegrabber and v4l2 at the same time
