Video Grabber not working

  • Hey Hyperioneers,

I spent the whole day on trying to get things work.

My set up: RPI4 with 4GB RAM and Raspbian Full installed.

Configured using HyperCon was working out. But only if I select internal grabber.
If I select external grabber it exits on startup with this error code:

ssh in: Oct 06 22:49:41 raspberrypi hyperiond[4463]: started
ssh in: Oct 06 22:49:41 raspberrypi hyperiond[4463]: INFO: Json server created and started on port 19444

ssh in: Oct 06 22:49:41 raspberrypi systemd[1]: hyperion.service: Start request repeated too quickly.

ssh in: Oct 06 22:49:41 raspberrypi systemd[1]: Failed to start Hyperion Systemd service.

When selecting the internal grabber I get the rainbow lights so hyperion, the leds, the Raspberry itself is working okay.

I tried grabbing the image of the usb grabber with a tool called cheese. It's also working the grabber is delivering some image.

    Here is my hwinfo -usb
    pi@raspberrypi:~ $ hwinfo --usb

This is the grabber i am using.

I spent hours and nothing is working out. Would be awesome to get some ideas how to fix it.

    Thanks for your time!

  • Still not fixed.. I tried 8 grabbers in the meantime. Every grabber had the wrong chipset.
No I finally got one with the STK1160 Chipset, which should be working, but, it is the version with 4 video inputs and one mono audio input.
It does not have the AC97 audio chipset and, of course ... , it's not working with the hyperion.
