Leds only showing red green blue in sequence

I have set up the leds wired up to an arduino uno and the uno is plugged into the raspberry pi. I have libre elec installed everything seems to be communicating fine but after it runs the startup code the rainbow swirl effect that should run is just red green and blue and when setting a color from the Hyperion app it is like every other pixels is a different color and not what it is set to. Any suggestions?
