Adalight Buadrate for non FTDI devices?

HI Guys,
i just setup an hyperion set using an Arduino Uno R3 and my APA102 LED's using the adalight sketch from Github.
In there it is mentioned that for FTDI devices the baudrate should be 115.200, but what about devices which are using an 16u2 for the USB connection instead.
Can they run with a higher baudrate?
