    My Seup is
    Pi Zero W
    Streech Lite (also tried buster)
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 1b71:3002 Fushicai USBTV007 Video Grabber [EasyCAP]

First off, I had this all working from a Dec 2018 build of Hyperion.NG
No major issues to report from then.
However I wanted to update and try the latest build.

    Fresh install of Raspbian
    Build from here: https://github.com/hyperion-pr…ob/master/CompileHowto.md

When "Enable USB Capture" is selected I get this console output

    Code
[hyperiond V4L2:auto] <ERROR> Throws error nr: VIDIOC_DQBUF error code 19, No such device
[hyperiond V4L2:auto] <ERROR> Previous line repeats 200 times
[hyperiond V4L2:auto] <ERROR> Previous line repeats 166 times
[hyperiond V4L2:auto] <ERROR> VIDIOC_STREAMOFF error code 19, No such device

When I attempt to manually set the device from auto to:
    /dev/video0
I still get the same error saying its on auto

Possibly related to this closed issue

Please let me know if I can test anything or provide more information.

    1) You can totally power a LED strip up while its still on the spool.

    1B)
    SPI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/…_Peripheral_Interface_Bus
    PWM https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulse-width_modulation
SPI is a means to send Data, PWM is used turn a voltage on and off in a controlled manner

    2) Did you correctly setup the hardware tab 1st?

    3) That is what the image possess does in the hardware tab. Each box you see on the test image samples the average colour and sends it to the corresponding LED

    4) Seperate configs from what I can see. I only use USB.... However the NG alpha might be able to do what you want based on the priority settings that I have seen

    5) If that guide got it working, I would follow that. I use APA102s myself so I am directly into my Pi Zero W

Perfect, thank you. Must be a lot of underwired systems out there!

Regarding the corners, would you recommend joining the power connections between strips and then piggy backing the power supply cable or just joining the data connections and keeping the power separate as I've seen on a few set ups?

You will do no harm in joining the power connectors in all corners. You are just adding another parallel path for voltage, and that's not a bad thing.

    As for a Vdroop calculator,
    http://www.nooutage.com/vdrop.htm
This one is a little nicer IMHO. The charts that are pre done set to 75c i believe as a worst case scenario.
yes you should plan for worst case, but its also nice to see what you will actually be using.

I just setup a APA102 setup with 290 LEDs. Everything is being pushed from a 5v 15amp PSU with no issues.
5V cable is maybe a foot long using 2, 14 AWG cables for power.
Power is inserted in both ends, and it is running great.
I though I might have had to run more power to the center, but with real world testing, it was not needed.
So my furthest LED is no more than 2.45m form the input voltage, and I have the parallel path coming from the other direction as well.
Calibration of my setup also ended up with me lowering my Luminace gain to 0.6, further lowering my power requirement.

Ended up going out and buying a new USB hub and that solved my problem
Seems as if the cheap Chinese OTG hub would cause a fault with the Video Grabber.
New hub and that i no longer an issue.

    Thank for the input guys

    I did not.
I have since turned it on with no change.

This is how my pi has been setup

    Code
    $  sudo killall hyperiond
    hyperiond: no process found

    Still no dice[/code]

I have a Pi Zero setup and can not get this working when I enable the V4L2GRABBER.
If I disable it, everything works as it should.

Do I have something wrong with my configuration or that capture card not working?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
