pclin nice specs and functionality : love:

byrdman You should just install hyperbian, personally I'd suggest 9, just until 10 has creases ironed out.
pin connection depends on led type. what type?
and make sure you have a common ground on pi and leds
-
If you find a decent switcher and a capture card, that has dolby vision and atmos and HDR10 passthrough (that I'm no long allowed to suggest, because I sell it) you can take signal for pi before your AV, providing that passes it through, then arc will carry on working.
Regards

apologies Mr.Shakes, hope you solved it, but davieboy it was you and Ambientheater77 that took us off into the woods of conversation, comparing which pi worked best
-
but does 3a have problems running led and hyperbian was what I was asking really
-
TPmodding, Not sure if I'm reading schematic right, but I have both data joined on gpio18, common ground on pi and led and power straight to led.
This right?
-
Ambientheater77 Off topic, but what about 3a in this comparison?

biyer Glad you got your wiring sorted!
I'm also facing issue:
1. bright yellows are more orange/red
4. is normal, for me anyway
I wonder if I'm experiencing colour issues from usb capture, pclin is looking into my card with me currently
Have a look at my set up...
I'm running
1) pi3 hyperbian 9, powered off usb
2) HDMI video capture, powered off pi
3) ws2183/60 420 count 7.5m, power looped at both ends.
My led are, data from gpio18 and power straight from a separate block. Need to keep pi close to led though, I Velcro'd it to back of screen
I dumped the ardiuno and everything else, simpified it and it's working great on a 100" screen. Here's a video in action, I will post some on normal TV footage later.

Apart from the yellow all colours are spot on, flesh and all.

LEDs only working on ws281x and cannot change baudrate on this setting
-
Read this link. WS2813 has no Data and Clock wires like APA102, they driven by dual signal wire
Mike72 Thanks, that would explain the need to set on ws281x, bi-wired to gpio18.
Power to leds, is coming straight off a power block, but do you think converting data to 5v from pi would help with dead pixels on pure white? (I'm trying a logic level converter soon, in hopes of removing flash-see 30.3 seconds into video)

Hey Guys,
I have a pi3b running on hyperbian 9 (not ready to take on 10 yet)
using 7.5m of ws2813/60led- 420 count- on ws281x setting, bi-wired to gpio18 (only way I could seem to get led functioning, gpio10 and 11 had fixed colours)
And a good external usb video capture card.
All colours are great straight out of the box, flesh tones and everything (I did drop green to 215 on image processing), but pure white signal just has dead leds, off white is fine though.
Any ideas?
Thanks

Mike72 A little askew from what been suggested / discussed, but could pi power on / off from usb signal 1/0 (hope I said this right) : /
-
Here's the usb log from grabber, 1080p ran off the screen but was 60fps max
-
note; i had to do it like this because my AVR is not capable for 4K signals.
so had to separate audio and 4K HDMI
Now I understand your method
-
Muteunicorn I agree with Mike72, the best way to get immersed would be wled, even hue wled around the room makes you feel way more inside it all,

biyer I am currently running from source through my senheisser sound bar to a projector, but in theoretically you can take the signal for usb-2-Pi first, off the source device before it goes to avr then just connect avr to tv, I've tested this way and still 4K signal, or use Ambientheater77 method (bit pricier) sorry Lighting-guy
-
Hi biyer I'm waiting on someone else to test on firestick 4k, but I made a 100" set up using a Pi3 this amazing video capture card and ws2813/60 leds. Only needed these three components.
Here's my set up, I'm running off xbox one x for pretty much everything, but tested Netflix and Prime, 4k bluray and games. No issue except a periodic flash (30.3 seconds in) on led caused by 3.3v being sent from pi to led data because i
I'm using 7.5m length, solving this with a logic level converter (I hope).
-
pclin sorry I'm unsure access my Pi to ask it, please give me step by step, I can plug in a keyboard later
-
Manny You can try with set up you are using, but using pi the hdmi splitter, usb capture plus dreamcolor might be causing the lag, we tried dozen of combos before finding this card
you can run just pi3 on hyperbian 10, video card and leds, nothing else needed except power, less components less lag. Also 4K, if your running 4K it wont pass through the dreamcolor box.
-
What's your set up now?
If still dream box thing thats the problem and why we didn't buy to resell
