Trying to configure piccap. Only getting the TV's interface showing in the live video preview, not the video itself. Tried a variety of inputs, and a variety of settings within piccap.

I have LG TV rooted with Homebrew, Hyperion.ng, and Piccap installed.
Bought a SK6812RGBW strip, appropriate power supply, and some jumper wires.
I have a spare Raspberry Pi 3b and Pi Zero.
What's the best way forward to set things up? I assume I need to use WLED? Do I need something like an ESP8266?
