I'll try again tonight. But yeah that was usually the error, but I would check and it was named properly. Below is most recent test I had on different build, but same issue.

I have successfully tested my setup with a python script from adafruit using a RPi model b, 60/LEDs per m WS2812b, both connected to same PSU and with a micro controller (level converter) was able to test it with all 300 LEDs.

Here is where I'm pretty baffled. I have tried installation of Hyperion within OSMC, Raspbian, Openelec, Kodi. Tried manually through commands in putty and through the seemingly super simple method of Hypercon. Installation every time shows successful. However this is where I'm stuck. The lights don't do anything at this point, I can't seem to send config changes to the config in the Hyperion folder, and manually doing it is fine, but still no success. When I hit start it fails immediately, typically giving me a error of not finding config file, or just failed to sync. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

    Any guidance would be appreciated.

Update: installed fresh OS on formatted SD and things aren't freezing anymore. Hyperion just refuses to start. I tested python script to insure hardware is working, and I can run all 300 LEDs off it. If it makes a difference I'm using a level converter in the mix, however I have tried without it. Seems maybe software related.

I have a RPi 1 Model b paired with some WS2812b pwm LEDS. I can't for the life of me figure out where I'm getting my issues. I have tried OSMC, Raspbian, Openelec, and Kodi builds. I managed to have like 5 leds of my 5m 60led/m ws2812b light up for like 5 min, but other than that nothing. I keep getting and odd issue acroos the different OS's. When installation of Hyperion from Hypercon Is finished it fails to auto reboot the OS. No lights are on. I am forced then to manually reboot from either terminal or removing the micro usb it. Either method gives me no leds on start, however, after the boot sequence starts I eventually cant boot into the os. It freezes. Raspbian everything goes smoothly, even shows Hyperion starting (again still no lights) until something along the lines of "printk messages dropped" comes up and the OS freezes. OSMC i have the Hyperion log attached, however, it reacted the same way as Raspbian accept i got an error:

    Zitat

"Kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal expectation in interruption"
---{ end kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal expectation in interruption
    random:crng init done

If I reboot, Hyperion is no longer installed and there is no config file, so I have to start the entire process again.

Update: With this build of OSMC it looks like it's completely corrupt. It gives the same error on every boot, and goes no further.

    PLEASE HELP ME OBI-WAN

I already have the WS2812B now so I'm committed. I found this from some research in the forums here. That's all I need? One of those attached to the pi 2?

I have learned a lesson that buying items based on a single guide should be priority if your unfamiliar with any of this to begin with. I have an LED PSU with 5v 30a, a RPi 2, and a WS2812B LED strip 5m 60leds. What I have since realized since these things arriving, is that I do not have the 4 contacts on the LEDs, the LEDs I have only have 3. I'm figuring out it seems that I cannot use a RPi 2 the PSU and LEDs only, because of the lack of that extra contact.

TLDR if the base setup I currently have is a led power supply, a RPi 2 v2, and a strip of WS2812B. Than I need an audrino to add into the mix to get it working? Is this correct?

How about 30amps? Letour LED Power Supply 5V 30A AC 96V-240V Converter Adapter DC S-150W-5 Power Supply for LED Lighting,LED Strip,CCTV

I'm about to start putting together a Hyperion "Ambilight" setup. One of the things I forgot was a PSU for the LEDs. I am using 60LEDs per meter WS2812B version. According to FAQ, I'm looking at 18watts per meter. For my 50 inch tv I was thinking 3.5 meters should be good (haven't had a chance to measure as LEDs aren't in yet) So at 5v I think should be about 12.6amps? So I was looking at this () on amazon and was wondering if it would be acceptable? Trying to figure this out now as I live on an island in Canada that to order from particular sites other than Amazon can take some time. My knowledge of this stuff is pretty basic so any help would be appreciated.
