I have re-do everything and it’s working again. However if I plug it out, then it’s disconfigurated. Do you know why? Does it need to be always plug in?

I think the problem is the HDMI video capture device… it is detected but it’s not showing anything in the screen… Do you know if I made something wrong? Or directly the video capture device is broken?
Thanks!!

I mean when the leds turn on, then the video capture turns off automatically…

Hi guys,
Sorry but I’ve been out for a while due to holidays…
But finally I’ve tried it out, and now it works, all the leds are on.
I’ve tried it for some days, and today is happening one thing that I don’t understand, let’s see if you know how to solve it.
When the raspberry is on, the HDMI video capture device is on, but when the leds are on, it suddenly turns off, and it isn’t turning on again… the leds stay on with the welcome colours… and nothing more happens. Do you face this issue??
Thanks!!

Thanks for all the link for the resistor.
However I’ve tried it without it, to check quickly if it works… and still is not working… there is no led lightining up…
What can be next?? I’m really lost

Where can I buy that kind of resistor? And how must be the connection be made?
Thanks!!!

Thanks joerbar65, I will try that kind of connections suggested.
And yes, I have that type of led strip. The resistor, as you said, it’s optional, but is it better?
Thanks!!!

Morning all,
I’m new on this, and Iwas following the tutorial for making an ambient light on TV using a raspberry pi 4.
I’ve followed all the tutorial, except the part of connecting the wires into the raspberry.
I’ve connected the red into the 5v power, green into the GPIO 18 and white into ground.
And the raspberry without any power, directly supplied by the same one as the led strip.
All is power supplied, raspberry is switch on, I made all the hyperhdr config, however the led strip is off. And it’s connected by the two wires, red and white directly to a power supplier of 5V 10A.
What I’m doing wrong?? Could someone help me on this?
Thanks!!!
