The issue is HDR
You can downscale the image ..
But removing data , or color dowtoning whatever you wanna call
Convert the HDR to SDR on the fly is another ball park...
HDR results in washed out and just offsetting colors on the LEDS
Currently there are few solutions to this. .. needless to say they're pricey too
Hey guys
Is anybody successfully (or knows someone) using a HDMI grabber ? Instead of usb and AV converter combo...
I've seen a bit of chit chat but nothing solid...
Thoughts?
Are you using correct chipset on the grabber ?
Are all drivers and OS correctly installed and updated ?
How is your video grabber getting powered ? How
Silly questions, but sometimes ..
Greetings
What does Hyperion.ng bring that's different?
Can this be done over current Hyperion install or should it be "clean" install?
Hey guys,
Was wondering, is this normal?
i feel that this is a very bad quality image and shouldnt be.
any aideas?
Thanks!
Just un update guys
Added the level shifters and bam! Working like a charm now to tackle HDR

Hey guys !
This issue gives me headaches..
What are the solutions for HDR content? Which for me currently results in incorrect colors and washed out image.
I can currently watch 4k without problems.
What are the current solutions available for stripping the HDR signal ? Is it only the HDFury products ?
Thanks!
Thank Tou! Havnt done it yet but think that covers it!
So
I just ordered 2 of the level shifters I'm case I FUBAR 1 of em (SparkFun ones, since the other are sold out)
How does one connect this ?
Sorry like I previously said I haven't found enough info to reassure me that I know how I'm going to connect this.
Does the level shifters itself have to be attached to some sort of board? ( or is that just when using and Arduino )
Is just wiring that I need to do?
Thanks for the quick replies one of the reasons I love this forum!
I have thought of that but really don't wanna w8 30+ days for delivery.
Let's see how it goes.
I know this is completely unrelated but is there any update on the HDR issue ? Or is the only work around still the HDFury products ? ($$$)
Greetings!
As many of you, I have been struggling with my setup re-done it a few times, bought numerous variants of the same stuff and blew my budget out the window a long time ago. That being said I have and still enjoy the project and appreciate ALL YOUR ACTIVITIES on forum.
My next challenge is a level shifter.
Have tried various solutions to stop flickering and now think this is the last shot.
I either didn't look properly or am just that NOOB that I can't get any conclusive info on sites forums etc...
Living in Portugal acquiring micro electronic / robotic materials is a challenge.
I was wondering if any of the following to level shifters is ok or recommended.

FYI Don't know.if it's relevant but I use a LED strip from SparkFun

a 2 to 1 plugged into a 1to2... not at all advised, even less for gaming
hey there,
just curious, do you have hdr running?
Hey
I've been using this
https://www.clearvisionsystems…er-18gbps-hdr-4k-1in-2out
No complaints
Outputs 4k @60 and 1080p simultaneously
I also have another isssue, dont know if i should change the thread
Regarding the video grabber image quality.
https://ibb.co/02YJxPs
this is from ps4 pro (but all other devices show the same quality)
what could this be?
i am using this : https://www.clearvisionsystems…er-18gbps-hdr-4k-1in-2out
as splitter (amazing device!)
connected to these "cheap" hd 2 av converter : https://mauser.pt/catalog/prod…_790&products_id=019-0717
that is being powered through usb cable to the PI.
thanks a mil!
Greetings,
I have good news! It is 90% working lol
So I replaced the suspect led...and a few others ...lol
I also redid all the led strip wiring (not sure if this made a diference though) ahah
And now everything is pretty much in order....
Except for the bottom led strip (wich is where i swaped the most leds)
(Used spare pieces os strip and am now out of leds to use)
If it stays on a static/single color for a while its starts flashing white randomly and then freezes....wich forces me to restart
Any ideas?
Another bust led?
Need to swap the entire strip? (no leds at the moment would have to buy more)
A weak corner solder?
Or a current issue?
Again thanks for all the help
although im not quite there yet im not so bummed out anymore!
Is it possible for a faulty led to sometimes work ?
And when it doesn't work is it normal that random Leds light with random colors after?
I will proceed to swap the suspect led tonight
Both the pi PSU (Which is a 3.5a 5v supercharger) and led PSU are connected to an outlet that is grounded at wall socket when connected
I currently have one ground from pi to the end of the led strip
And one ground and one 5v from the PSU to beginning of the strip
Should I have one from the led PSU to the pi?
Should I also have ground connected on the 5v I put on every led strip?
