Okay hooked the LED's incl. the Arduino up to an 8€ Orange Pi Zero i had laying around, watched the first 4K movie with Hyperion Screen Cap and it is working.
Now i have one problem, i cant manage to autostart Hyperion Screen Cap when Windows starts. Tried it via Autostart Folder and Registry, result was both times the same. It wont start anymore and directly crash after that even if i try to start it via the Desktop icon. Even new install does not solve it. I have to delete the Settings which are somewhere located inside the Users Folder and redo the Startup Wizard to get it running again.Could you add a "Startup with Windows" Setting in the next Version?
To be honest this program makes Kodi on Windows useable for me, because without i could only run outdated solutions to get Ambilight.

Thanks i will give it a try.

HI Guys,
i just setup an hyperion set using an Arduino Uno R3 and my APA102 LED's using the adalight sketch from Github.
In there it is mentioned that for FTDI devices the baudrate should be 115.200, but what about devices which are using an 16u2 for the USB connection instead.
Can they run with a higher baudrate? -
Yipee all parts have arrived. I think i will have time at the weekend to assamble everything, in the first step with a rPi as receiver connected to the stripe. So i can see that everything is working before moving on to the ESP.

Moin Leute,
Good question, i got these connector before i have read that they are not suitable.
Any wire recommendation? -
Nearly everything has arrived, apart from the levelshifter.
-
Just ordered the Wemos D1 Mini, because it already has Voltage Regulator and and USB Serial onboard. Also most of the Pins are accessable.
-
No Problem, but at first i have to order everything Shouldnt take too long, cos i have seen that sourcing the APA Stripe etc. from Germany is not much more expensive than getting it from China, considerung i have to pay customs etc. on it.
Edit:
Okay Hardware is ordered. -
Okay so no P'n'P with the APA102 till now.
-
Is it also possible to use the sketch with the APA102, because i normally only have seen the use of GPIO2 in the Sketch, but the APA102 need two wires (Clock and Data) afaik.
-
Okay, thanks for the Info than i will source the 74HCT and bring everything together on some kind of DIY PCB.
Btw the last picture that Kollektiv02 postet is the correct wiring? Is 1A and 2A connectec to the NodeMCU or to the LED Stripe? -
Just a quick question, have everybody already tried a simple LLC like that one here from Sparkfun? https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12009
-
Btw should i directly go onto Hyperion-NG?
-
100W, didn't expect that.
Any recommendation regarding the PSU? -
Hi Guys,
i just order my new TV, a quite cheap 55" Hisense UHD model, which i want to give the final touch with Hyperion.I would like to check back to you if what i want to do is really possible.
So what sources do i have. That is quite easy. A LibreElec HTPC as well as a Windows PC for gaming. That means i dont want to struggle with USB Grabber etc. because i only use the TV as Display.
My plan was now to have the Grabber running on the HTPC and the PC. Hyperion will run on my 24/7 Ubuntu multi purpose TV Server. The LED's i like to hook up to an ESP8266. So the Setup would be really lightweight.
From what i have seen i will be needing an Level Shifter for the ESP so that the LED's get a clean high signal. If i have read everything correctly the APA102 LED's are the way to go.
Would it be best to source them directly from China? Are 60LED's/m sufficient and which Power supply do i need? It would be roughly 4m of LED Stripe which means approx. 240LED's to light.
Have i forgot anything?

Yes it is simply search for Adalight Nano.
