For your hardware connections.... have you connected your led strip ground to the pi?

try using the android app on your phone to calibrate the colours
-
Also you have to disable the hardware accelration (surface) on the shield.
check my post here
https://hyperion-project.org/t…grabber-app.76/#post-4919there's a solution without turning hw acceleration off.

Hi all,
found this solution for the shield:
https://github.com/koying/SPMC…ith-Mediacodec-Surface%3Fbut only using SPMC/Kodi. Not an android grabber per se, but at least works with the ShieldTV and SPMC without having to disable HW acceleration.

Got it working with my shield as source and its all looking good
how did you get it working with the Nvidia Shield TV? are you using a RPi2 to drive the leds? -
not with hardware acceleration
If I disable HW acceleration, should it work?VNC solution
Can you elaborate on the VNC solution?
Is that setting up a VNC on android, doing a remote session on a windows box, and then usung the windows hyperion capture app to send it to the pi? -
The workaround i use now for ambilight on my shield
Does this means hyperion add-on for Kodi/SPMC would never work on the Shield? (Kodi/SPMC running on the shield, with the add-on and hyperion running on a RPi2 driving the leds)? -
Maybe start smaller...
Raspbian, directly to the led strip. Using the Hyperion android app. Then test using windows and the hyperion capture thing for windows. then keep adding stuff and keep testing. Long process but it'll help determine where the fault is -
make sure to stop and start hyperion after changing configuration. I had the same B-G switch and fixed by changing to RBG.
Regarding the side leds, not sure what the problem can be. Have you tried with the Hyperion app for android? disconnecting the USB grabber? -
Have you connected the LED ground to the Pi?

Any Ideas?
I had a similar problem and it was solved by connecting the GROUND from the led strip to the PI.... -
Hi
Is ground connected between the Pi and the led strip?
Never thought this was going to solve my problem!!!
I was having the same problem with the lights showing random colours. I was ready to throw the towel after multiple tests and then read this. With the exception of a BLUE <--> GREEN swap, everything was ok.Only issue I have now:
Looks like the lights are not refreshing as fast as the image. I run a test file that cycles between RGB, then a spin RGBW, and a spiral, I could notice when the image changes between colours, the lights are slightly behind. What parameter should I change to address this?thanks for your help!
