    I get an error message when I Hyperion.NG want to install on Libreelec with SSH


    root and password works but then..

    I tried in docker, but I got the same result. KODI's just running.

    ik heb zelfs 2 PI's, eentje gebruik ik voor Retropie en de andere voor Hyperion.
    inderdaad ik gebruik deze alleen voor ambilight, dat was ook de opzet :)
    En ik heb laatst nog Kodi geupdate op de pc, ik vond Isengard een mooie softwarepackage en Krypton.

    Kodi voor mij die tijd is een beetje geweest, ik heb veel versies gehad.
    ik heb nu 6 bronnen die afgespeeld kunnen worden met Hyperion erbij, op de receiver. Ik heb Kodi niet nodig (op de PI) , ik draai Popcorntime op de pc> verbonden met een 15mtr HDMI naar de receiver icm VPN. Of lekker ouderwets ipv streamen Bluraydisc.

    Nee ik heb de howtocompile gevolgd met diverse stappen zoals ik al eerder zei, die link werkt niet voor Buster.
    De raspi heeft een OS nodig, dit was degene die ik gekozen heb.
    Zoals je ook zelf kan uitmaken welke windowsversie je op je pc installeerd, geen reden waarom of waarom niet een bepaald OS.

    toen ik dat werkend had, een electronica kast gebruikt om alles in te bouwen. Raspi/ATX voeding/ HDMI>RCA converter / UTV007 grabber
    Ampére/voltmeter voor de 5 volt voedingen van Raspi/ ATX voeding 350 watt, gebruikt voor 5 volt lijnen.
    relais 2 zijdig,
    A schakelt hoofdpuls ATXvoeding ( toggle)
    B schakelt UTV007grabber + voeding (toggle)


    het laatste is omdat soms de grabber en de Raspi elkaar ff wat tegenwerken, daarom deze reset gemaakt waardoor je niet eens van de bank afhoeft.
    ideaal.


    en van de week een autostartscript van libreelec een beetje "verbouwd" en toegepast op de hyperionserviced.
    Met 1 druk op de knop A start het hele spulletje, geen losse SSH commando's meer nodig.

    het goed instellen van localhost:8090 ben je langer mee bezig, al de tabbladen met verschillende settings nemen een behoorlijk geduld in beslag/ maakt de hobby uitdagend
    ik ben zo'n 2 weken bezig geweest om Hyperion.NG naar wens in te stellen/ tijdens het tv kijken de ledstrip settings bijstellen op VNC totdat de vriendin er gek van wordt. :)

    Nee, dat was niet zonder problemen en is al meer dan een jaar geleden.
    Bij mij installeerde die wel op Raspi3/Buster en draaide die wel maar gaf altijd een fout op de usbgrabber, alles geprobeerd ( had de goede MAC/serienummer type) maar baatte niet want deed het nooit. 3 verschillende grabbers geprobeerd en natuurlijk lsusb en al die commando's....
    Adafruit testscript uiteindelijk gebruikt voor het testen van mijn strip.


    volgende stap classic Hypercon en heb ik uiteindelijk Hypercon draaiend gekregen, en heb ik met een goede setup 1 maal mijn ledstrip kunnen aansturen via Hypercon testpage. Hoe dat precies lukte weet ik niet meer maar daarna is het nooit meer gelukt. (met die cirkel en die vinkjes)
    Ik ben uiteindelijk via genoeg info te verzamelen aan de weet gekomen over Hyperion.NG en dat kreeg ik zeer rap werkend.


    WS2801 ging zonder problemen en heb nu na een jaar een APA102 strip besteld voor grotere tv. :)

    I am using a HDMI to RCA analog converter > to UTV007 ( really simple grabber, like 8 euro's) on USB2.0, i show you my settings of the ledconfig

    maybe has to do with PI arm and power settings, thats all i can think off. (cpu cant render the images at full speed) ?
    look at the bold sections that is important for higher clockspeed and usb power on the PI

  • Hyperion with RPI3 & APA102

    indeed, normally 5v 10A powersupply should be enough.
    I have a digital meter in my setup so i can check how much V/A the setup is using, with only 96 leds its quite high already> with the PI and leds its 6,5 Amps.


    so you see it uses more then you think :) combined with sometimes poor powersupplys which will cave in voltage if you use full power then you see what i mean.
    The PI alone uses around 1 Amps when its full running.
    Also the leds don't like any voltage below 5 volts, this can happen when current is [too] high on powersupply ( which is not strong enough) and thus voltage will drop..

    on the webbrowser [8090] you can [disable hyperion] on tab Dashboard, this disables your led,s but service is still running and maybe is a little hassle to do that on tablet or laptop every time.. . or you connect with putty/SSH or VNC and use SSH code below but hassle is still there :)
    i used a workaround before because the autostart service didn't want to execute on my system, so i did it with a phone ( my Rasbian knowledge isn't high)
    so scrolled around on the web and then found a way.


    OPTION;
    you can also try an app Raspberry SSH lite on your tablet/phone, in the app you can program a button with CMD text for turning Hyperion on and off,


    ON
    CMD text; hyperiond


    OFF
    CMD text; sudo killall hyperiond (only works when autostart/restart systemd is NOT active ) otherwise Hyperion will restart after few seconds.


    reboot PI
    CMD text; sudo reboot


    These commands you put into a separate button, this app synchronizes with your services on the Raspi, just use a good local network with same IP range and the same ip adres for every button that you're programming.
    With the OFF command Hyperion should quit completely and therefor also terminating GPIO's output data that should turn off your lights.

    On the webbrowser (port 8090) on Hyperion.NG


    go to General > LED Hardware Instance Management in the menu tree and > make a new profile. Run the new profile and then switch to this profile by following the explanation text:
    "Use multiple LED hardware setups at the same time. Each instance runs independently which allows you to set different LED layouts and calibration settings. Running instances can be selected from the icon in the top menu bar"


    go to the top right in the bar and press the two arrows and you can select the new profile that you are running, now you can explore diffrent settings and types of LEDs without destroying your original settings.

  • Hyperion with RPI3 & APA102

    If i see your setup then i would ditch the separate powersupply on your Raspi, just use the 10A 5v powersupply for that and ground everything on GND. Speaking of that, i would use a much more powerfull 5v then only 10A max, if possible ditch also the arduino you don't need it for 5v LEDS. I use for my setup a 35A on a ATX powersupply. Hope this helps
