Connect Mediaportal with Hyperion (AtmoLight)

    RPi1/Zero, RPi2, RPi3, +nodeMCU/ESP8266
    In this tutorial we will show you, how you could lightup your ambilight with the picture information of your Mediaportal.

    1. Install the latest version of AtmoLight plugin for Mediaportal:

    Install AtmoLight via Mediaportal Extension Manager ( and up supports Hyperion)

    2. Start the Mediaportal Configuration application and setup Atmolight, select AtmoLight and press Config

    3. Check Hyperion and open the Hyperion Tab

    4. Change the IP address or host name to match the one of your Raspberry Pi
    HINT: Port equals the Hyperion PROTO-port. The default is 19445.
    HINT #2: To connect via hostname it might require you to install Bonjour:



    5. Press save and when you start some media in Mediaportal your lights should turn on.

    Now you have successfully connected Mediaportal with Hyperion!
