RetroPie + Kodi + Hyperion for Pi3B/Pi4 platform capture?

Hi all,

I have trouble using Hyperion.ng on my Pi3,Pi4. Need help.

First, I am explaining my setup.

I have been using Pi3/Pi4 for Retropie (strech) +Kodi 18.7 + Hyperion Classic over few years. My main purpose of Hyperion is using with Kodi and Retropie. I am using Kodi for media player and IPTV add-on. I had multiple USB capture cards and HDMI splitters - most of them not so reliable. (some times USB capture fails, some time splitter fails - gave up to use hyperion for HDMI input)

To add more, I also have lights and switches controller via Wifi using Smart Life app.

WiFi IOT over Smart Life is not enough for me to setup Play Sync like solution, so I were investigating a Home Assistant, and found hyperion.ng support Home Assistant integration + WLED or multiple light control.

So I decided to move from hyperion classic to hyperin ng. I installed raspbian + kodi + hyperion.ng

I used pi3 raspbian (strech)+ Kodi + hyperion.ng w/ platform capture Dispmanx
==> Continuously screen blacked out every few seconds. found out Kodi take 100% of CPU.

I used pi4 raspbian (burster)+ Kodi + hyperion.ng w/ platform capture Dispmanx
==> Continuously screen blacked out every few seconds. found out Kodi take 100% of CPU.

I used pi4 raspbian (burster)+ Kodi + hyperion.ng w/ platform capture framegrabber
==> Hyperion does not capture display.

I have tried for my pi3 and pi4.

Is hyperion ng still alpha release and does not support a platform capture properly yet?

I will try and will decide what to used. Classic or NG.

Having 4K tv and viewing 720p video only seems very odd. Probably go with Classic for now.
