Switch on one LED on two

Hello everybody !

I purchased an ambilight kit on aliexpress (It's just a led ruban ws2812b, with an arduino). It's a led tape 60 leds/meter, and i put it on my 55" TV. So i have more than 200 leds ! This ambilight works with corelec on a x96 air, with hyperion ng.
But it's a little bit laggy ! So i wanted to buy a ruban led with 30 led/meter. But can i just switch on one led on two ? And if i do that, will the arduino be more efficient ?
I tried to modify the config file of hyperion, but it don't works.

Hello again !
I found how to switch off one led on two, and it change nothing. But ! I modify the baudrate of my arduino uno, and it's very smooth !
