Hyperiond fails to run on MacOS (desktop mode)

  • Hello!

I'm trying to run Hyperion on my Mac to control my external monitor's LED strip (WLED). But whatever I try, I can't force my Mac to run the hyperiond executable...

I have an ARM64-based M2 processor, I downloaded the newest version (2.0.15-Linux-aarch64) but if I try to start the app I get this:

    Code
    pandec@MBP bin % ./hyperiond --version
    zsh: exec format error: ./hyperiond

    And if I double-click it:

Any hints on what am I doing wrong? The architecture seems to match + I made sure to unblock the file on the system level when MacOS prompted me that the file is from an unidentified developer.

    Best,

    PanDec

  • Well... That's such a surprisingly simple answer that I feel stupid not to figure out myself... I checked out the docs first and there is this note -> "macOD - Currently just a zip file with the binary". So I assumed the dmg was not an option and checked the zips right away.

Anyway, thank you very much for the hint!
