... thank you ntim. Prior to using your fork i raised the brightness by pushing "luminanceGain" up, but using your build (download from Brindosch) worked much better on rpi1! The colors are a closer match to the screen display. Still, using the calibration pictures the blue picture is even less blue than the black picture - of course with setting "switchOffOnBlack" : true (the lamps are not turning off?!)
But who cares - overall impression is much better. Thx again.
