@gerrit Did you read my last post, just two posts in front of yours? Libs were fixed by the devs back in April, so simply (re-)installing/updating hyperion should do the trick...

@HITMIK
No. As you can read one post in front of yours, Brindosch has updated the packages. So please update your hyperion installation (through hypercon or by the install.sh) and hopefully everything is working again.
It would be nice, if you can post afterwards, if the new packages are working.@Brindosch
Thank you for fixing the packages! -
Thanks for the files! Maybe you can just put the link in here?
Nope... if someone wants to make them public, don't hesitate to do that, but please, not with this link.
It's only a workaround and has to be fixed different...
But if you want to share them, just go for it. -
Can you post your hyperion.log?
-
@Pnuts76 Can u help me too?! please
Sure... you've got mail in your inbox... -
I will look into the missing libs and update the package for hassle free updates. Thank you for investigation.
Much appreciated!
This will help people when upgrading to OpenELEC 8.x or doing a fresh install with the actual version and will keep us from troubleshooting...
Thank you very much for your work on this and keep up the good work! -

Hi,
just ssh onto your system and search them for example like this:
find -name libfontconfig* -
Did you already tried my workaround by coping the missing libraries from an older version?
For me it's working fine by now... -
I had the same problem after upgrading from OpenElec 7.0.1 to 8.0.1.
The libraries libfontconfig.so.1 and also libfreetype.so.6 are missing and hyperion seems to have dependencies to them (for whatever reason...).
Workaround I used and is working for me so far:- Downgraded to OpenElec 7.0.1
- Searched for libfontconfig.so.1 and libfreetype.so.6 and stored them on my fileshare
- Upgraded to OpenElec 8.0.1
- Copied libfontconfig.so.1 and libfreetype.so.6 to /storage/hyperion/bin
- Rebooted
- --> Hyperion is up and running again without complaining
But I've to mention, that I had some issues rebooting OpenElec and Kodi not starting up correctly two times after performing this workaround. Maybe there are some sideeffects. But since I'm really rarly rebooting my pi running with OpenElec and Kodi is currently running, I hope, this will work since there is a proper fix for that.
