Did you try just grabbing the output from the TV Scart socket? That would be far easier if your TV will allow it.

This method is already describe on wiki. You can grab directly from scart but you will only get tuner source. Maybe few tv can do that i don't know but in most case you can't grab hdmi in sources and tv apps.

With an enigma sat receiver i connect the hdmi to tv and scart directly to the videograbber and it's working. Maybe some tv can do the same.

I can give you answer on your other thread if you want.

Guys for your installation using camera i'm totally behind you lol.

Few months ago i test Ambilight using 2 pi cameras ( one with fish eye ) on my pi zero after found waldo website... but the linear led configuration make me sick and i give up, i test hue like by camera instead.

I compile hyperion v2 to made some test on my side with my pi camera when i got time. Thanks for information found on this thread.

    Hi Jon,

Sorry to hear that you installation give you some trouble.

You wiring looks to be good but it's a little bit difficult to see what's wrong on you installation. For me you plug the good cable at the good place and if we take a look in Adafruit Website we can see approximatively the same thing https://learn.adafruit.com/dot…i-painter/assembly-part-1

Maybe test with a small lenght of LEDstrip will be good to see if something happen and when you are ready, you can try to continue your installation with the LEDs behind your TV and not before. If you can light on some 12 or 24 LEDs the rest will be easy.

This is my advice and what i'll do at your place.

    Hello,

The lightberry order has arrived, I bought the grabber recommended by the user @AmbiMod , but the result is exactly the same, I only have a black screenshot, and the LEDs do not respond to the signals sent by the hdmi ... what else can I do? Why does not it work for me?Do I have to configure some other parameter that I do not know?Do I need some different hardware? I am open to any idea.

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

I'm sorry to hear that but i ordered many video grabber from lightberry and all works as expected so the problem must be elsewhere.

I note in your configuration that you had used NTSC but if we take a look on this website https://www.son-video.com/guid…tandards-de-la-television we can see that in Spain we need to use PAL like for me in France but you know better than me or anybody else which format to use.

Switch all your configuration to PAL ( HDMI2av and hyperion config file ) and try if you get something.

You also can try to not use your splitter using for exemple Windows duplicate screen function, this is what i do when i waiting for my splitter.

For me the splitter and the videograbber are not the problem. Maybe software with your grabber configuration or Hardware with your HDMI2av.

I hope you'll find a way to resolve your problem.

    https://fr.aliexpress.com/item…=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5GtcYz

Hi bought this model from amazon too and i send it back because it didn't work.

Like you i saw Fushicai grabber when i did a lsusb command, black screen when i tried to get a screenshot. I test many Hdmi2av but nothing to do, the grabber was the problem.

We can found a lot of HDMI2av with 1,2 or 3 chip on a similar box. I hope you haven't bought the 1 chip board shit. lol

Or if you want you can go into Libreelec Milhouse release and you will get the best libreelec release.

    Hi,

Do you know that it's possible to use USB Video Grabber on the Odroid with the amazing work of @Cédric Laubacher ;)

I found his blog few days ago https://blog.laubacher.io/blog/hyperion-on-odroid-c2 and i saw that my UTV0007 work.

Now i can have Multi-Source with my Odroid and do something else with my Raspberry.

You can have a look on this 2 pictures

    Thank you! :)

You're welcome. I made a mistake for the last one lol. It's in stock but will arrive in France after Christmas, i need some rest lol. And it's the not a good one .

I'm going to bed . As i told you it's very difficult to find a 4Pin 12mm L shape in all country

Yes i know but i don't find yet a reseller with 12mm pcb. Maybe do like you said will be a solution ( difficult for me to write in English lol ).

A few months ago i found reseller with full L Shape Corner but he is out of stock permanantly https://fr.aliexpress.com/item…D-strip/32396338202.html?

I ordered many 12mm pieces on aliexpress but i always receive 10mm :(

If i found what you're looking for i'll inform you ASAP.

Wait, i'll give you some possibility.

    Jon my friend,

I'm really happy that you ask me all this questions lol, and i'll answering you with pleasure.

I will give you a quick tutorial to make you understand some Ambilight installation.

You need to know that two kind of LEDs exists :
    - The PWM with a 5V, GND and DATA wires
    - The SPI with the same wires above + a CLOCK

So normally the PWM have 3 Wires and a SPI 4. An exeption was the WS2813, SK6822 and CS2803 with 2 DATA for Dual signal when a LED breaks down.

You can use many profile on hyperion according to the LEDs technology choosen and the way we connect the LEDs. Before the work of @penfold42 we need to use an Arduino with PWM LEDs but now we can plug directly the LEDs on the Raspberry.

We can choose two Mode, the PWM and the SPI. For PWM, 3 GPIO are available on the Raspberry but as the wiki said, it cause a problem with analog audio use so he create the SPI mode for PWM. ( DATA on GPIO10, the same GPIO used by real SPI LEDstip ).

Now we will see the way you can plug your LEDstip :

    - The first way is to plug the LEDs directly on your Pi. With the works of developpers we can use PWM or SPI LEDstrip directly with a Raspberry. ( and plug more than 1 for the PWM. Good thing for a local MultiZones for exemple )
    - The second way is to use an Arduino connected on Raspberry USB using Adalight profile.
-The Third way is to use an Arduino Wifi Capable, an NodeMCU/ESP-01/ESP8266/ESP32....and have a Wifi Ambilight.

So we can ask this question : "Why use an Arduino or NodeMCU when i can plug my wires directly on the Raspberry ?"

If you can do your installation without this objects do it but sometimes is preferable to pass by one of this ( NodeMCU preferably ).

NodeMCU are very convenient because you can have an Ambilight Over the Air. With a NodeMCU you have many choice like :
    - Do a wireless installation with a UDP communication between the Raspberry and the NodeMCU for the LEDs present on the back of your TV
    - Do a Multi-Zones installation. You can have 4 more LEDstrips with 4 NodeMCU ( represent the side of your TV ) on your room. For exemple you can put the Left/Right LEDstrips on the Left/Right wall, the Botton on the floor and the Top on the ceiling creating a sort of Lights propagation thru the wall. Is hard to explain but a video is better than word.
    - Create Hue Like bulb
    ....

I don't want to be boring so i'll stop here with information without interest for you. The most important is "Which installation i want really want to have ?" A Wired or Wireless ? "Which option ?" Hue, Orb, Yeelight, MultiZones...

After you answered these questions the rest will come naturally . To finish i never use a LevelShifter with all and different installation i made but it's very simple to use and i don't think you need this. I can give you an installation picture if you want.

Voila, if you have more question i'll give you more answers with pleasure.

    YouS

    Hi,

If i can help you with your config. A friend of mind find a new product, the Hdmi VideGrabber. I test it and it's working great.

You can find it here https://fr.aliexpress.com/item…=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.5GtcYz

I don't know if you can find it on Amazon. Note that the LEDs is not a real APA102 but an APA102C and sometimes a SK9822. The real APA102 look like that

The price is not the same, 20$ /meter.

Thank you for your list, i saw that an adapter like that wasn't limited to 10A. I recommend the use of L Shape corner for the angle :

But sometime it's hard to find a 12mm 4PIN RGB.

And for more efficiency you can powered your LEDStrip at the begining and at the end with an Y cable DC 5.5/2.1.

The rest of your list is good i guess. If you ask who i'am and why i answered you can check my blog https://translate.google.fr/translate?hl=fr&sl=fr&tl=en&u=https://ambimod.jimdo.com/

Note for @Administrators... I can translate some of my tutorials or vital information if you want because for exemple i saw that some information are missing like the possibility to use 2 LEDStrip maybe 3 on the same Raspberry or the good LEDs/Choice or All Ambilight possibility, the multizones effects....

For Info i used a WS2812B and a WS2813, one with the SPI mode and the other with the PWM mode.

Sorry Jon i pollute your post lol.
