If i understand that correct - ill ssh into the pi and install hyperion via a script
Then i go to my nuc and install hyperion ng and set it up via the html tool.
Is that correct?
And will that have influence on the old hyperion / hypercon stuff which runs on the shield?

Ive been using hyperion for about 5 years now on my Nvidia shield. Ive a raspberry pi3 setup with hypercon and on the shield i first ran the kodi plugin and then the Android grabber.
Now ive set up a little nuc to run as my new htpc with linux.
The kodi addon isnt compatible anymore so im looking for a new grabber.
Whats the best way to make that possible without changing the raspberry pi set up
Ideally i just want a linux program or kodi addon which does the grabbing from the screen just like the android grabber does it.
Korrektur: Er möchte es direkt auf einem Geräte benutzen und die Daten digital abgreifen, nicht wie in deinem Fall analog über einen USB grabber...
also das letzte mal als ich geschaut habe (mind 4-5 Monate her) da ging das mit dem netflix addon und hyperion einwandfrei...
genau. habe kein splitter bzw grabber sondern nur das hyperion addon.
da ich fernsehen auch über kodi gucke (wenn überhaupt mal), ist das hyperion addon alles was ich brauche.
gibt es vom hyperion ne neue Version für kodi 18?
hab mich jetzt länger nich mehr mit ambilight beschäftigt da es ja alles wunderbar funktioniert.
wenn ich jetzt einfach das upgrade mache von 17.6 auf 18.1 dann funktioniert das ambilight leider garnich mehr. farben werden falsch dargestellt und ich hab blitze drin. über die android app gehts aber da hab ich dann wie gesagt die leds durchgehend an.
wenn also noch wer weiß obs hundert pro mit dem netflix addon funktioniert, dann würde ich nochmal versuchen mich da durchzuarbeiten das dass ambilight funzt.
hatte ja bestimmt nochwer anders das selbe Problem.
gibt es mittlerweile eine Möglichkeit wie man das ambilight bei netflix nutzen kann?
mit kodi 18 is ja ein netflix addon gekommen.
da mein hyperion addon nich mehr richtig funktioniert hat und ich auch noch viele andere bugs hatte, hab ich sofort wieder 17.6 installiert.
seitdem habe ich es nicht mehr installiert. Vielleicht weiß ja wer von euch wie es jetzt aussieht.
funktioniert das netflix addon? Wenn ja - funktioniert das hyperion update richtig und funktioniert es auch bei netflix content?
die android app kenne ich. da stört mich allerdings das es immer an ist - also auch wenn man nur im menü ist
wenn das alles funktioniert wäre es ja ne Überlegung doch zu wechseln.
oder falls jemand nen anderen weg kennt wie man ambilight bei netflix nutzen kann wäre ich echt dankbar wenn mir jemand erklärt wie es geht
just tested this app. normally just used the kodi add on.
is there a way to set it up it only shows leds if something is playing in the background? like the addon?
this way i have the leds on even if im just in the menu
the rest works like a charm on my shield
ive my ambilight now running quite a bit. in total ive 114 leds. everything works fine. just that the last two leds wont light up (ever).
thought it might be a defect led stripe. cut of 4 leds and added 4 new. same thing.
ive power coming in from both ends (5volt 10a).
thought it might be a 3.3 to 5 volt issue so i ordered a level shifter. the level shifter got rid of a different problem (the first led before always was red no matter what. now its fine). however- the issue with the last 2 leds still goes on.
its nothing i couldnt live with, but of course id love to have it perfect. as far as the json file goes: ive tried different baudrate values (from 10000 to 1000000 (right now i have it at 500000).
i tried to copy the last two leds in the file and changed the index numbers to 114 and 115 but that didnt changed the issue.
maybe someone has an idea what else i could try. otherwise it stays as it is right now (im actually quite glad i finally found a perfect config (at least for 112 of 114 leds)
edit: i also once tried a config with 116 leds. it was still the same issue
i somehow think it might rather be a driver or raspberry pi config issue than a hyperion issue but of course i dont know that for sure.
in the raspberry config.txt i added the dt param line and removed a# from a different line (hdmi something something).
oh- im using a raspberry pi 3 and ws2801 leds. like i said- everything else is perfect
hmm. irgendwas musste man in der config.txt noch machen. Muss ich eben suchen.
kannst sonst pin 6 nochmal probieren. Ich hatte komischerweise bei pin 9 auch nen flackern obwohl beide gnd sind.
wenn du im hypercon werte änderst (z. b. gamma runter auf 1.5 oder so) tut sich garnichts? egal welche werte?
ich zumindest hatte je nach config manchmal das Problem das leds anblieben wenn das ambilight aus war.
ansonsten würde mir wirklich nur levelshifter einfallen. kostet 6 Euro, ist also echt nicht die Welt. Problem ist halt das der pi 3,3 volt nutzt und weitergibt und die leds eben 5 volt.
hast du gnd vom pi zum led streifen gelegt? oder vom pi ans Netzteil. kannst auch noch nen anderen gnd pin testen.
in der config. txt hast du alles angepasst?
wenn das alles richtig ist und überall strom anliegt kannst du testen ob es mit ner anderen config anders ist.
wenn alle stricke reissen evtl nen pegelwandler besorgen. Die leds nutzen 5volt. der pi 3,3. Dadurch kann es zu Störungen kommen (einzelne leds spinnen rum, leds flackern, blitze usw)
hi, ich habe mir jetzt auch einen level shifter bestellt. auf dem bild mit dem Kreislauf gehen ja vom led streifen 4x v+ und gnd vom led streifen zum levelshifter.
jetzt frage ich mich wie das gemeint ist. reicht es wenn ich die beiden daten Kabel und v+/ gnd vom led streifen mit dem level shifter verbinde (also verbindung quasi raspberry pi/ shifter/ led) oder muss ich vom led Netzteil aus auch nochmal die plus und minus Leitung an den level shifter anlegen?
meine logik sagt mir es ist einfach nur das zwischen Stück was vom led streifen zum pi geht, aber sicher ist sicher.
und die zweite frage- wie kann ich den befestigen? geht heiskleber oder kllettband auf die Rückseite und dann ans Fernsehergehäuse oder braucht der noch nen eigenes Gehäuse oder sonn board oder sowas?
ach ja - bestellt habe ich ihn weil ich farblich jetzt alles perfekt habe - nur hatte ich bis gestern immer mal wieder blitze und die erste led am streifen ist durchgehend rot und die letzten 2 leds am Streifen sind immer aus obwohl sie nicht kaputt sind. (sind auch nur aus beim ambilight - beim starteffekt oder wenn farben gesendet werden sind sie an/ normal).
