  • Some LEDs sometimes turn on "by their own"

    Maybe someone has an idea, where to look at.
    I have a setup with Rasperry Pi 3, APA102C LED Strip with 121 LEDS and a 5V20A BTF Lighting Power Supply.
    Also in the setup is a Video Grabber, a HDMI2AV converter and a HDMI Splitter. The latter 3 should be irrelevant though, since the problem only occurs when the Ambilight is off.
    When Ambilight is on, everything works 100% and I am totally happy.


    The problem: When the Ambilight is off, sometimes some LEDs (mostly around the first 20 LEDs, sometimes also some later LEDs, but always in the first 2 segments of the setup) turn on by their own. This happens more or less once in 30 - 60 minutes.
    It seems they receive 1 data signal which makes the turn on in mostly blue and red colors, then nothing more happens. They are just on. I can fix it by switching processing via hyperion on and off again, then all LEDs are black again for the next time.
    I checked the wiring, it looks okay (not perfect, I had not been soldering for 15 years before, but okay). So no shortages or stuff like that.
    And as I said, the setup basically works all perfect except for some LEDs turning on on their own all 30 - 60 minutes.


    Any ideas?

    Was du natürlich machen kannst, solange Hyperion noch nicht macht was du willst, ist einen Apache Webserver installieren und über diesen Umweg lokal auf dem Pi z.B hyperion-remote aufrufen, mit Parametern, welche du als get Parameter vom Apache erhältst.
    Bissl von hinten durch die Brust ins Auge, aber sehr flexibel. ;)
    Den Apache vllt nicht unbedingt ins Internet öffnen. :)

  • Kein Bild vom internen Grabber

    Hmmm...
    Als ich sehe das richtig, Du versuchst aus HyperCon heraus einen Screenshot zu machen?
    Die Config hast du an Hyperion gesendet? (Also nicht nur gespeichert, sondern via "Senden"?)
    Ansonsten musst Du wohl auf einen Kodi Profi hier warten, ich verwende den externen Grabber und kann leider nicht mehr helfen. :(

    I guess one could have a kind of dynamic lux plugin?
    You just configure the brightness thresholds and other parameters like latency or so.
    And in one place you just enter the command that is to be issued in the shell in order to retrieve the lux value. (In this case you can even have a script that calculates lux from daytime).
    Just an idea, I am new to this Hyperion stuff. :)

  • Externer Grabber - komisches "Testbild" !?

    1. Mach doch mal nen Screenshot vom Grabber aus HyperCon, wenn Du das komische Muster hast. Ich vermute, dass dieses Muster einfach von dem Bild stammt, welches dein Grabber sendet, wenn er kein Signal hat.


    2. Kein Grabber aktiviert aber Licht klingt so, als würde Hyperion nicht korrekt abgeschaltet werden.


    Wegen dem automatischen Wechsel, hab ich mal was von Prioritäten in Hyperion gelesen, also wenn Kodi ne höhere Prio hat, switcht Hyperion evtl. beim Start von Kodi. Da ich aber nur ein Hyperion Device habe, hab ich das nicht im Detail gelesen, kann mich auch täuschen.
