use a external device like firetv or android tv boxes...or try hacking and get access to the TV :)

Thank you @TPmodding but as you know most people start to use standalone smart tv as smart tv includes very popular apps like Youtube, IPTV Player, Netflix etc... So, for some people external devices are not necessary. That's why I wanted to consult here.

For getting access to the TV, I think this is super out of scope for most of the people :)

Hi all, I have bought Ezcoo 4K Splitter as well. And I have been using it as you can see attached system (UTV007 HDMI grabber).

HDMI Out1 : Works as expected for 4K content
HDMI Out2: Scaler works and procudes 1080P content

Note1: I did not see any problem for HDR video contect about LED's color or screenshot from Hypercon (of course resolution is low but same for other video types as well).
Note2: Only issue if the power goes out, if power goes out in my apartment, I need to plug out power of Ezcoo and plug in manually again, otherwise HDMI1 works on 1080P

    Hi guys,

Sorry for newbie question but I could not make sure if it's possible. I know this Android Box "Khadas VIM2" which has got 40 pins. It has got Android 7 but also we can use it via ubuntu.

Is it possible to install and use Hyperion successfully on this box?

    Here it's
    Khadas VIM2

Nope, above I mentioned my LED is 4pin :D

So below test result mean everything OK, but nothing is changing once I give the command via Putty, so it means command can be sent but LED might be broken or incorrectly wired?

I saw below log after giving below test command, any idea

    Given command

    Response:

I will try, thank you so much.

One small one: Troubleshooting says : "Put a wire between MOSI and MISO"

My SK9822 4pin LED has got CI/CO and DI/DO at the middle so which one should I understand from MOSI/MISO?

    Hi guys,

I installed Hyperion with only "internal grabber" option successfully but could not see Swirl effect at all, so I wanted to share my settings and log here just in case maybe you can see something wrong before I start to thiink if my hardware connection is wrong?

Currently, only I see 3 led which lights white all the time

@AmbiMod, thank you. It's your fault as your blog is fully French and Google Translate is not helping a lot :roflmao: Just kidding, thank you very much How cannot I think you had to write a code of course :D

May I ask a noob question as well here :)

I have not been able to setup my ambilight system but if I use it it will be Rasperry + Libreelec.

And may I ask how do you start and stop Hyperion for everytime booting Raspberry? Do we have to use Hypercon all the time to do it or is there a simple way from software perspective (of course for hardware solution, we can unplug grabber and it will stop :omg:) ?

    Regards

    For your first question:

    • Why do most people seem to go first with the hdmi splitter > converter > grabber input method? Given the issues with resolution matching I don't understand the advantage of choosing the HDMI as the grabber input.

My anwer would be because lots of people like me use digital AV receiver and AV receivers might have only 1 output via HDMI (or 2 HDMI for lucky ones). For example I have got Onkyo 656 and I am lucky because it has got 2 HDMI out but nothing else for out.

Dear all sorry for newbie question.

I have got 50 cm APA102 similar LED Link
Below Datasheet says to use 18W per meter for this LED

For test purposes can I use my 5V/20A AC Adapter for this 50 cm led? is there any overcharging risk?
