I don't know much about it. See the first response here maybe? https://github.com/hyperion-project/hyperion/issues/581

If i were you. I would just set to internal framegrabber. Play something on kodi and get that to work before going to the usb grabber.

    Yeah, thank you.
I just followed the steps from the video I used to start with, so put on some test Images with Kodi, worked well.
Then I activated the grabber and now it works with my PS4.
    Thank you so much.
    How can I thank you?
Also should I set this to Solved now? I guess so right?

so, i looked in the new config i made, for my short strip and it just had some hexadecimal characters, i replaced it with my first one, and got another error.

Seems like I had configured the external video grabber, but for testing i unplugged it.

I think you just solved the problem, it seems like hyperion fails."

    Good thinking. Start small.

Make sure the spi bus is working. It is possible that it shorted.
    This is a good write-up on how to test. ( https://wolfgangklenk.wordpres…king-spi-on-raspberry-pi/ or https://importgeek.wordpress.c…-pi-spi-loopback-testing/ )

thanks, for the quick answer, i cant open any terminal in kodi, so i tried to use WinSCP, but i always get error messages with that, do you have an idea how i can get a working terminal window?

    Could be.

The solder joint's on the input of the led strip could be done better. It look as if the DI &CI wires are very close to the chip contacts.May be to close.

Go over all the joints. A cold solder joint is sometimes very hard to spot.

sorry, close to the chip contacts? Im not quite sure, what you mean by that. This morning when i plugged in the strip, most of the leds lit again, and stayed on. So you suggest its a problem with the data and clock solders? I will try to resolder them, when im home and see what happens.

Thank you for the answer, but now, when the pi is on and I plug the ws2801 strip on the power, the leds flicker for a second and then just one led on the side is on.

Edit: Changed the config file back, and now it flickers for a second and 2 leds stay on, did i wire something incorrectly maybe?

Thank you very much for your answer.
This is how my Config.txt looks, so the SPI should be activated.
    I will also

and this is how i Connected the strip, I use a USB powersource for the Pi, if you want, i can later send you some more Pictures as soon as I come home.
