Can't remember wich one, but you have news features with NG that doesn't exists in old classic (some advanced parameters).
I switched one year ago and wow : It's plug n' play.
The UI is a real improvement for fine tunes of your experience too.

With alpha9 I had sometimes this kind of behavior. the only way i found was to reload an old export of the settings

Hi, with apa102 leds i had some kind of trouble like this. The faulty leds was juste before the leds who don't light up.
So maybe the 5th left from the end is broken. I don't know if it happens with ws2801 leds

Im curious to understand where the camera is placed to achieve the same with a camera?
Here is my setup, the camera is about 2 meters from the TV.
Threadpi zero + webcam setup
Here is my setup
- pi zero
- logitech c270 camera
- apa102 (only 80 leds)
- 4 meters cable between leds and pi zero
- woodeen frame
All made of spare part, on my older TV i had an hyperion setup with pi zero, usb grabber + splitter.
I changed because of two reasons- new TV, PS5, HDMI 2.1 : i didn't want compromise on HDMI flux and cheap 2.1 splitters doesn't exist
- Always add problems. sometimes grabber or splitter stop working for a second or mire. I restarded Hyperion instance 3 times a day. Sometime

They is a good english thread about camera method here (with script for fisheyes cam)
ThreadAdjust Camera in Hyperion - Color - Help required
Dear Friends,
I try to setup Hyperion with my Pi Cam, but I have issues calibrating. I took a picture to show the problem on a white screen.
Due to capturing the screen image via camera and the viewing angle the camera detects a certain "gradient" where it should be white.
I mean I can related why this happens but I dont know if I can compensate it.
Is there any option in hyperion how to correct for this or any other suggestions? Is the Camera the problem?
Any help would be appreciated.piperionMarch 12, 2021 at 11:18 PM If you have a spare webcam, a raspberry pi. You can test with the preview pane what your camera method can do for you.
This is my daily driver.

wow, it looks frackin great!!
-
Yes Camera is cheap and work with/without HDR. If you can have your camera far from TV it's easy
-

I'm not sure about 60fps, i think i reduced grabbed FPS due to pi zero processing power.
But i'm running ps5 games with 60fps and no rolling lines.
Used Video demo:
-
But other than that, this doesn't require any additional processing power from the Pi, since the generated LED list is used by Hyperion directly without any extra video processing.
Very smart!
You could avoid graphical mode by asking the user to switch to the right image (like the webui's color calibration do in hyperion)
For lot of people, showing an image using a chromecast, kodi.. would be easier.
Looking forward the real result!

OK Thank you, I Will look at it. I remember you don't use apa102 led. Probable not the same scheme.
-
luchow3cu I bought an esp8266 to add second led strip. Do you have a good beginner tutorial ?
-
I don't use special material, my camera is far from TV. the Solution is perfect.
you can watch this Thread, dinvlad is trying a setup with a fisheye camera:

Family Guy during daylight :
And just for eyes pleasure :

Ohoh i wana see it in action. If pi zero is enough, it can be a great solution !
-
OK tonight i found Why i lost my wow effect. Oled isn't faulty. It's me, I set too high Brightness compensation. Lowered it and wow again !
