You're really unlucky, I order tons of stuff every week and it gets to France usually in 2 weeks, never more than 3.

France is A LOT closer to China, Russia, Poland, etc. than Canada is. LOL
I have been looking at the link you posted for the last 30ish min and they have some really good prices. I might just buy everything from there. Still tho, the shipping time is a pain in the A$$. LOL

And to buy your Led strip, the official "BTF Lightning" shop on Aliexpress will save you a lot of money as stated by @jeroen warmerdam .

That's awesome that I can save a good amount of $, thanks for that!! The only issue I have is that Aliexpress takes FOREVER to ship! I ordered something from there about 3ish years ago and it took (I'm not even joking here) 8 months to get to me. I know that's pretty rare but I have found that the average is still over a month.

even with 30leds/m (i think) is more than okay.

advantage with less led is that you can run them on maximum brightness, which improves density of the colours. I've experimented with 60 Leds/m but its too bright, at least for me
now i am running the APA102 30 Leds/m on maximum brightness so there you go :)

The PSU I have can do 170W on 5V so the 60/M should go full brightness. The website says that a full 5M uses 90W, even if that was a mistake I still have 80W of wiggle room. If I don't use this PSU its just going to sit there doing nothing, so I may as well use it.

    So I was looking at the specs for the PSU. It says its +5V X 30A = 170W and +12V X 18A = 600W.
I want to go with the 144/m so it gives me good coverage and a lot of light. My TV is a little over a foot away from the wall and I have no way of changing that.
If my calculations are right then the PSU won't be able to power the 5V LEDs, so I guess I have to go with the 12V.
As for the splitter I also found this. https://canada.desertcart.com/…yuv-4-4-4-hdr-edid-scaler
Someone suggested it in another post. It's a little pricy but if it works then ill get it.

    Hi all!!!
I have wanted an ambient system for my TV for a while now, so I figured it's about time! The only thing I think I'm having issues with is the LED strips. Let me know what you guys think. I have a 65" 4K HDR Samsung with a Samsung soundbar. I have 2 devices connected to the soundbar/tv so I figured I will connect the ambient system after the soundbar before going to the tv. That way everything connected can use the ambient system and I don't have to worry about high-end audio with any kind of a splitter.

System brains = raspberry pi 3

    HDMI Splitter =
Will this splitter work for HDR or do I have to get the HDfury?

    Capture Card =

    Arduino Nano =

Power = I have an old Corsair 620W sitting around that I don't need anymore. I'll use this to connect everything. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12867

LED Strips = this one I have a few questions about. I'm looking at 2 different options here. With a 65" TV I believe ill need just short of 5M.

    and

    So my questions are.
1-Is there any reason that a 12V wouldn't work with this?
2-If I go for the 5V will my PSU be enough to power the strips and the PI 3?
    3-Are APA102 that much better than ws2815 (ws2812b)?
