MiraBox 321 feedback

  • Hello, I want to migrate from android grabber on my shield tv to a grabber to catch every signal (I need also apps from TV itself like Netflix, Prime, ecc).

Someone is using the Mirabox 321 successfully? I have seen in the help section that this is recommended...

Is it enough to connect my shield tv (with netflix app on it) to HDMI IN, TV on HDMI OUT and usb to a raspberry pi zero w running hyperion?

    Thank you

Everything that comes over the HDMI will work except DV, apps from the TV will not.

    Ambilight for ever

  • Hello, back for updated review.

The device is quite good but it has two big limits:

    - no CEC support

    - no Dolby Atmos (Dolby Digital Plus) - if you enable it you listen to a lot of noise

the big advantage is that it connects directly to Raspberry with USB for grabbing.

Since I need CEC and Dolby atmos I am looking for another device.

    Any advice?

    TY

  • It is best to use a splitter and the Mirabox only as a grabber on the splitter's 2 HDMI output. E.g. FeinTech - VSP01202 - Splitter can CEC and passes Dolby Atmos on.

Loop out grabbers usually have problems with this.

CEC could still be 'teached' to the Mirabox by internally soldering a cable from PIN 13 IN to PIN 13 Out.
