Hyperion.NG - No device from udev.rule in dropdown for led-hardware

I have created a udev rule for my Arduini-USB device. In the dropdown under LED-ardare I can only select the regular devices.

Is it not possible to consider those udev devices? Or what mistake am I making?

Did you add the user running Hyperion to the plugdev group?

sudo usermod -a -G plugdev $(whoami)

Otherwise check if your udev device shows up under /dev/tty* as a symlink.

I am using hyperion.ng with LibreELEC. It seems everything is running as root.

Is it neccessary to add root to the plugdev group? usermod is not existing on that system.

Yes, symlink created:

ls -l /dev

> lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Nov 10 08:39 hyperion -> ttyACM1

Or has the alias prefixed with 'tty' -> ttyHyperion?

Yes, the alias has to be prefixed with 'tty'
