eARC not working after install

Hey,

I set up Hyperion recently, and while I love the lighting it provides, I lost the ability to change volume and turn on my TV with my AppleTV remote.

I am personally not a fan of using multiple remotes, and because of that I have stopped using Hyperion. I purchased a cheap capture card from Amazon, and I think that is the issue. If anyone has advice on how to fix this issue or what capture card to buy, let me know.

What's the deal with eARC?

What you describe is the CEC functionality that no longer works. But since you don't write which Capture Card and how connected I can only guess. Capture card with loop out, cannot CEC, you have to use a splitter that supports CEC.
