Black border detection somewhat slow?

When a movie starts, but also between scenes, the black border detection will often take a second or more to trigger.. so I end up with dark LEDs top and bottom for a second after a scene change, before they pop back on. Any solution to that?
I adjusted the threshold according to the wiki and it is working, just takes a moment to find the black borders.
