WS281x controller type (pwm) and kodi on Raspberry pi

Hallo,

today I got hyperion.ng to work on my rpi4 with SK6812 LEDs in pwm mode.

(The sk6812spi mode does not support my 264 LEDs...)

To use the pwm mode I've to set dtparam=audio=on in /boot/config.txt.

With this setting I deactivate audio and hence the audio output to the HDMI interface, so kodi has no audio output anymore.

Is there any solution to get back the audio output with the pwm mode.

WS281x controller type?

For Sk6812 there is a controller type sk6812spi!

I think for your problems, number of LED, audio you would better use ESP and WLED software. WLED is also more suitable for SK6812 RGBW. In Hyperion you only have to select controller type wled, you then set LED type and number in WLED. ESP is available for a few euros, the LEDs are connected to the ESP.

Yes, I am already on this track, found an ESP8266 in a corner. Looks not bad, but get no control from internal screen.

Currently my sk6812 works with gpio 19

to change to SPI0 use

GPIO10 ( MOSI) data

GPIO11 (CLK) clocksignal

but your screenshot shows that you use pwm controller type(ws281x).

If you want to use SPI mode, select controller type SK6812spi.
