LEDs stopped lighting up after power outage

  • Hi

I've been running hyperion on a raspberry pi 3b with arduino nano to control some ws2812b lights as per the project linked below.

As of yesterday, the lights completely stopped lighting up but the hyperion UI still loads. I can't think of why since i haven't changed anything. We did have a power outage a while ago, not sure if that had anything to do with it. Any ideas why this might happen? The logs in the UI don't show any messages

  • If you have a live video in Hyperion and there is nothing in log, Hyperion is working.

So check arduino, LED's, power supply and wiring.

  • Last summer I had a lightning strike in the back yard. While I had no other damage in the house besides my sprinkler controller, the raspberry PI pin used to send the signal to the LED strip was somehow damaged. I used this StackOverflow post: https://raspberrypi.stackexcha…nd-functional-on-raspi-3b to run a quick/easy test to confirm the pin was bad. Basically, it sends one byte out a pin (used to drive the LED signal) and tries to read it via another pin.
