Hi, I have a problem after upgrading. I have a raspberry with the latest version of hyperbian, connected to a ws2812x led strip, so I have to have the root user. And then connected in another instance to a wled. I have the following problem, when I want to forward does not appear the server when in previous versions if it appeared. And with the root user, I can't enter the "custom-effects" folder either.

If you start Hyperion under root the folder is automatically created.
The problem is, if you log in via standard user, you have by good reasons no permissions to access the /root directory.
I suggest you transfer your custom effect files to a standard user's directory and then copy the respective files using sudo to the target location.

For the WS2812x led lights, run hyperion as root, but I can't get into the custom folder to add an effect. Could you give me a step by step how to do it ?
-
This only works with root rights, so you have to use sudo.

How can i use sudo ? - Could you share a link of youtube for do that ? Thanks
-
Add sudo before the Linux command.
Example:
mkdir -p /root/test creates a test directory in /root.
If you do not have rights to create /root/test, put sudo in front of the command.
Example:
sudo mkdir -p /root/test
Do you want to copy something, e.g. an effect
Example:
sudo cp /path/effect /root/.hyperion/custom-effects

Hi! Now, I am able to copy the files
scheme
andudprbglistener.py
, but I can't find them in the list of effects to edit within the Hyperion web UI. -
Are you sure, you copied to the correct directory?
-
First, I downloaded this file and unzipped it. Then, I navigated to the directory using the command
cd /home/hyperion/.hyperion/custom-effects
.Next, I uploaded it via WinSCP to the
custom-effects
folder. Afterwards, I copied it using the commandsudo cp -r /home/hyperion/.hyperion/custom-effects $ROOT/custom-effects
. -
Execute
sudo cp -r /home/hyperion/.hyperion/custom-effects /root/.hyperion/custom-effects
You have copied it to the Linux root directory not the Hyperion config directory used by the root user.

Ok, i will try that. Thanks you!
