Hyperion on Raspberry Pi 1

    Hi,

    I wouldn’t hesitate to buy a new Raspberry Pi, but unfortunately they are everywhere out of order in Germany and I still have a Raspberry Pi 1.

    I’ve read this thread, but it wasn’t really helpful.

    Do people here have experience if a Raspberry Pi 1 is powerful enough to handle Hyperion? Especially, is there a bigger lag than when using newer Raspberry Pi’s?

    it depends.

    If you flash only Hyperbian onto SD card to run hyperion (implemented) then it can work fine, Pi1 is not that powerfull so you have to lower down incoming resolution and frames/second >>> size decimation lower it all down!

    Rendering of the image is the hardest part for CPU and GPU.

    Even though. May it be that you get your Raspi (model 3b or newer) later, then you can simply swap out the SD card onto the new Raspi.
